Food safety and sanitation are indeed very complicated. There are numerous imported food products from different countries into Taiwan, making it difficult for the government authorities to regulate them. However, although food sanitation is the public's basic request, it has become a key indicator to evaluate whether the government cares for the people's well-being. Therefore, it is the government's mission and important policy to ensure food safety for all. The real key to food safety and consumer trust is the government's proactive approach to food safety regulations. Furthermore, if the government does not take active and effective action to manage food safety, there will be no protection and no assurance that food will be safe, so that the public's health cannot be safeguarded and the social stability can hardly be maintained.

To ensure food sanitation and safety for the people, the relevant units have encouraged the industry to establish a self-management system, focusing on the safety for the consumer, and to facilitate the overall development of the domestic food industry in order to upgrade the industry and make the domestic food industry more capable of competing in the international market. Also, the relevant units promote mutual authentication among international food products to ensure the safety and sanitation of imported and exported foods.

The A.A. advisory team consists of experts and scholars to evaluate the food and beverage industry's personnel, workplaces, facilities and quality assurance system management, and encourage the excellent food and beverage industry to continue to comply with the Good Hygiene Practice (GHP) to enhance the sanitation and safety for food services, while providing a reference for consumers.
