The Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC49) is the 49th session of the international body established by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to develop harmonized food standards, guidelines, and codes of practice. Held from 6–10 July 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland, the meeting brings together government representatives, scientists, industry experts, and consumer organizations to discuss global food safety, nutrition, food labeling, and fair trade practices. As one of the world's most influential food policy forums, CAC49 plays a vital role in shaping international standards that promote consumer health and facilitate safe, transparent, and sustainable food systems.
